The development of the coronavirus both in Italy and abroad and the consequent measures to restrict movement imposed by national and international authorities have inevitably led to various changes to the travel plans of thousands of customers.

Passengers who no longer wish to fly as per the schedule indicated on their ticket
All passengers who purchased a ticket issued by 30 April for a flight departing from 23 February to 30 June can request the following by 31 August:
- To change your booking for another trip taking place by 31 March 2021 or within the period of validity of the ticket
- A refund with a voucher of equal value to the ticket purchased, valid for one year, to fly to any destination offered by Alitalia.
Passengers who have had their flight canceled
All passengers in possession of an Alitalia (055) ticket whose flight has been canceled can request the following by 31 August:
- To change your booking for another trip taking place by 31 March or within the period of validity of the ticket
- A voucher, valid for one year, to fly to any destination serviced by Alitalia.
- A refund of the price of the ticket or of the remaining value of the part of the trip which has not yet been completed
Passengers with MilleMiglia award tickets
All passengers with MilleMiglia award ticket, who decide not to travel, can request by 31 August a change of reservation or choose to reclaim their miles and receive a refund of the airport taxes.

Clients who, due to tecnichal reasons determined by the update of the systems, have purchased on alitalia.com a ticket from Spain to Italy (and viceversa) on flights in codeshare with Air Europa, which were canceled, will be refunded.
Measures to protect the safety and health of our passengers and staff
The health and safety of travelers and employees have always been Alitalia's top priority. For this reason, Alitalia informs passengers that, before boarding, they will be required to have their own protective mask to be worn on board. Alitalia could deny access to the aircraft to passengers who are not in possession of their own personal protective device. Alitalia recommends travelers to wear a protective mask also while at airports and during boarding and disembarking from the aircraft.

Check-in operations for Alitalia flights at Rome Fiumicino airport
Starting from 17 March, check-in operations for all Alitalia's domestic, international and intercontinental flights at Rome Fiumicino airport are carried out at Terminal 3, following the temporary closure of Terminal 1 decided by the airport Authority.
Flights from and to Milan
From 16 March all Alitalia domestic flights from and to Milan operate from Milan Malpensa airport due to the temporary closure of Milan Linate airport. Flight check-in operations will be carried out at Terminal 2 of Malpensa airport.
Passengers who need to travel to/from Sardinia
Following the Decree of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructures and Transports in agreement with the Italian Ministry of Health (nr. 153 of 12 April 2020) and the Ordinance of the President of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (nr. 19 of 13 April 2020), passenger air traffic from and to Sardinia is guaranteed until 3 May 2020. Flights will operate exclusively from Cagliari airport and travel will be possible only for urgent reasons such as work engagements, health, specific needs or to return to the place of residence.
Passengers who need to travel for the above reasons will have to request an authorization to travel 48 hours before flight departure, by filling the form available on the Sardinia Region website. The authorization will be given within 12 hours from departure and must be shown during boarding, together with boarding pass and an identification document.

ALBANIA
Local authorities have ordered the suspension of all air traffic to and from Italy.
ALGERIA
Local authorities have ordered the suspension of air traffic to and from Italy.
ARGENTINA
The Argentinian government has ordered the suspension of all air traffic to and from Italy from 16 March.
AUSTRALIA
The Australian authorities have ordered a ban on entry to all travelers who stayed or transited in Italy in the preceding 14 days.
BRAZIL
Brazilian Authorities have ordered a ban on entry to all travelers from Europe (Italy included) from 23 March. The ban will not apply to Brazilian citizens, passengers with a Brasizilian residence permit, foreigners who travel to Brazil for family reunification with a Brazilian citizen and to travelers specifically authorized by the Brazilian Government for reasons of public interest or for freight transport.
CANADA
The Canadian Authorities have ordered a ban on entry for foreign travelers, with the exception, among others, of permanent residents, relatives of Canadian citizens and US citizens.
CHILE
The local authorities require that all passengers arriving from Italy, except those in transit in Italian airports, observe a period of self-isolation of 14 days.
CZECH REPUBLIC
Local authorities have ordered an entry ban on all passengers arriving from Italy, except residents in the Czech Republic.
EGYPT
Local authorities have ordered the suspension of air traffic to and from Italy from 19 March.
FRANCE
Local Authorities have established that travel and transit through the French territory requires a specific self-certification. The necessary self-certification forms are available on French authorities websites.
GERMANY
German Authorities allow travel to the country only to German citizens and foreign citizens who are resident in Germany or have documented business engagements or urgent necessity to travel to the country (i.e. death in the family or health reasons). Travel to Germany is also allowed to foreign citizens in transit to their respective country of origin or residence but only if they can prove that they have a prosecution to their destination country (airline, train or bus ticket).
GREECE
Greek Authorities have ordered the suspension of all air traffic to and from Italy.
HUNGARY
Local Authorities have ordered the suspension of the whole air traffic to and from Italy
INDIA
Indian authorities have suspended, effective immediately and until 15 April, all visas issued and not yet used. Additionally, all travelers arriving from Italy or who stayed in Italy from 15 February, are required to observe a period of self isolation of 14 days (also valid for Indian citizens).
ISRAEL
Israeli authorities have banned entry to all travelers - with the exception of Israeli citizens - who have visited Italy in the 14 days prior to entry or requested to enter the country, including passengers in transit in Italy.
JAPAN
The Japanese Authorities have ordered from 27 March a ban on entry for all non-Japanese passengers who arrive from or were in transit in 21 European countries (including Italy) in the 14 days preceding their arrival in Japan.
JORDAN
The Jordanian Government does not allow entry to travelers from Italy or who have travelled to Italy in the last 14 days before arrival in Jordan.
KUWAIT
Local authorities have announced a ban on anyone entering the country who have traveled to Italy in the two weeks preceding the attempt to enter Kuwait. The restriction also applies to those with a valid visa or residence permit.
LEBANON
Lebanese authorities have ordered a ban on entry to all travelers from Italy, with the exception of Lebanese citizens and foreigners residing in Lebanon.
MALDIVES
The Authorities of Maldives have ordered an ban on entry for travelers from Italy, including passengers in transit in Italian airports.
MALTA
Local authorities have ordered the suspension of all air traffic to and from Italy.
MAURITIUS
From 24 February 2020, Mauritian authorities prohibit Italian citizens who have traveled to Italy, or were in transit in Italy, in the 14 days prior to the departure date of the flight to Mauritius to enter or transit in the country.
MONTENEGRO
The Authorities of Montenegro have ordered an ban on entry for travelers from Italy.
MOROCCO
Local authorities have ordered the suspension of all air traffic to and from Italy.
NETHERLANDS
The Dutch authorities have ordered the suspension of all air traffic to and from Italy.
POLAND
Local authorities have ordered a suspension of all air traffic to and from Italy starting from 15 March.
PORTUGAL
Local authorities have ordered the suspension of all air traffic to and from Italy.
ROMANIA
The Romanian authorities have ordered that customers in possession of a flight ticket for Romania, arriving from Lombardy and Veneto, may have to undergo an isolation period of 14 days after entering the country
RUSSIA
Russian authorities have ordered a ban on entry in the Federation for all Italian citizens or for travelers of any nationality arriving from Italy, except those with a second Russian citizenship or with the citizenship of a country of the Eurasian Union (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhistan, Kyrgyzstan), or with a residence permit in Russia.
SAUDI ARABIA
Local authorities have imposed a ban on entry into Saudi Arabia to passengers with tourist visas from countries with confirmed cases of coronavirus, including Italy.
SEYCHELLES
As of 25 February 2020, Seychelles authorities have forbidden passengers who have stayed or traveled in Italy 14 days prior to the arrival date in Seychelles.
SERBIA
The authorities of Serbia have ordered and entry ban on all passengers arriving from Italy.
SOUTH AFRICA
Local authorities have ordered an ban on entry for travelers from Italy from 18 March.
SPAIN
The Spanish Authorities have ordered a suspension of all air traffic to and from Italy starting from 11 March.
SRI LANKA
The local authorities have ordered a ban on entry to all travelers arriving from Italy who stayed in Italy in the 14 days before their date of arrival in the country. Alitalia has a codesharing agreement with SriLankan Airlines.
SWITZERLAND
The local authorities have ordered a ban on entry to all travelers from Italy, except Swiss citizens and foreigners with a Swiss residence permit.
TUNISIA
The local authorities have suspended all air traffic to and from Italy.
TURKEY
Until further notice, local authorities have ordered the suspension of all air traffic to and from Italy. Turkish airline companies with a codesharing agreement with Alitalia – such as Pegasus - can depart from Turkey and land in Italy but, for their return flights to Turkey, can only accept Turkish passengers.
UKRAINE
The local authorities have ordered a ban on entry to all foreign travelers arriving from Italy.
UNITED KINGDOM
From 9 March Local Authorities recommend anyone arriving in the United Kingdon and without Coronavirus related symptoms to stay at home as much as possible and limit going outside to the bare minimum necessities.
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
The government of the United States of America has ordered the ban on entry into US territory from 14 March for all travelers coming from or transiting through the European countries belonging to the Schengen area, including Italy. There will be exceptions for US citizens, permanent residents or their family members. For further information on the exceptions, please check websites of the US Authorities.
VIETNAM
The Vietnamese government has announced a mandatory quarantine for anyone arriving from Italy. Alternatively, passengers able to re-board the first available flight, without leaving the airport transit area.
We strongly advise travelers to check government websites for detailed information on travel and any entry restrictions that apply for the country they are flying to.
