Alitalia in extraordinary administration ceased its flight activities from October 15, 2021. The information relating to passenger rights in relation to the sale of air transport and flight services carried out until October 14, 2021 is shown below.

DELAYS AND CANCELLATIONS

If you have purchased a ticket for a flight operated by Alitalia in extraordinary administration that has been delayed on arrival equal to or greater than three hours, you may be entitled to reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses and / or compensation based on the provisions of EC Regulation no. 261/2004, as subsequently supplemented by the decisions of the Court of Justice of the European Union.

 

In the event of flight cancellation, you are entitled to a refund of the unused ticket, and in some cases also to monetary compensation.

However you will not be entitled to the compensation provided for by Regulation CE261/04 - but to the refund of the unused ticket- if the delay or cancellation was caused by "exceptional circumstances" (for example: mobility restrictions related to the Covid -19 pandemic, adverse weather conditions, air traffic control strike, airport closures or other causes not attributable to the carrier ) or if the cancellation has been notified to you with at least 14 days notice with respect to the date of the flight.
