BOARDING RESTRICTIONS ON ALITALIA FLIGHTS FOR PASSENGERS COMING FROM CHINA AND THE SPECIAL STATUTE AREAS OF HONG KONG, MACAO AND TAIWAN
In consideration of the provisions regarding hygiene and health prevention on the spread of infectious diseases by the International Health Regulations (IHR) and the Italian Ministry of Health, and also in application of the maximum possible precautionary norm (pursuant to Legislative Decree 81/08 and its amendments and additions) and the consequent health procedures already adopted by the company in the event of an epidemic-related emergency declared by the WHO to be of high international risk, Alitalia informs passengers that the airline is not required to accept passengers from the People's Republic of China and from the Special Statute areas of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who have not passed the "quarantine period" of 14 days outside the country at risk, or who, after the quarantine period, present signs or symptoms that suggest a state of ill health and who, at that time, are unable to produce medical certification attesting that these  signs or symptoms of disease are not attributable to those of the current disease of the lungs caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Several other countries (including the USA, Japan, India, Israel, the Republic of Korea and others) have imposed restrictions on entry to passengers from China due to the current Coronavirus epidemic.

We advise travelers to check government websites for detailed information on travel and any entry restrictions that apply for the country they are flying to.
