People

WE ARE ALL PART OF THE SAME CREW IN OUR COMMITMENT TO PEOPLE

For us, taking care of our passengers and our employees is our utmost priority, and something that we provide through our personalized services, constant commitment and the elaboration of new projects.

OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR PASSENGERS

We also supported synchronized swimming athletes, the multi medal-winners Giorgio Minisini and Arianna Sacripanti, at the 2019 World Series Super Final in Budapest. The collaboration with the Filipidde Project also enabled us to participate with the association for the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, connected to Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development in New York, and the organization of the CONI Convention in Rome, Prospects for Inclusive Sport.

We tailor your trip to make sure it's unique.

VOGLIA DI VOLARE

If you would like to travel to the ends of the world but are anxious about flying, follow our Voglia di Volare (Will to Fly) program, created by our experts in the field. With a course of theoretical skills and practical experiments, our team of flight captains and psychologists will help even the most reluctant passengers familiarize themselves with all aspects of flying.  Since 1997, over 2,000 people have completed the two-day course and more than 93% of participants have succeeded in overcoming their difficulties.

CHILDREN

Children have always been our most cherished customers.

From the special KIDS Room at Fiumicino to the Baptism of the Air to mark the moment of their first flight, the support during all phases of the flight (free stroller transport, devices for personal comfort, free cradle on board on long-haul flights) and our Amenity Kit, present on intercontinental flights, we have a full range of services to offer our great little passengers. In addition, our renamed Unaccompanied Minors service offers comprehensive assistance for children traveling alone.

In 2019, we accompanied more than 19,000 children!

OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR EMPLOYEES

The preparation and well-being of our staff is fundamental to our work.

Mankind has managed to break both the sound barrier and the light barrier. Would you like to see if we can also break the barriers of cultural diversity? In Alitalia, inclusion, multiculturalism and a welcoming atmosphere are essential points conveyed in our Training Academy for our staff. Lessons to make the travel experience special for everyone.

Furthermore, in line with the commitment of IATA and ICAO, we have launched an information campaign and dedicated a training module to combat the phenomenon of human trafficking, i.e. the movement of human beings for the purpose of exploitation. Since the beginning of 2020, more than 1,000 of our flight staff have already participated in the course to understand how to intercept and report this illegal activity, which affects 161 countries in the world and unfortunately records over 25 million victims every year.

HEALTH AND WELLBEING

Health is everything, now more than ever. Which is why we have launched the Health and Wellbeing project to promote the culture of prevention and healthy lifestyles.

We would like to offer our staff the opportunity to improve their health and ensure a workplace environment that focuses on the wellbeing of the individual in the widest sense of the word.

OUR COMMITMENT DURING THE COVID-19 HEALTH EMERGENCY

Alitalia has put in place all the procedures necessary to safeguard the health of the airline's passengers and staff.

Alitalia has also served as a reference point for the repatriation of thousands of Italian nationals stranded abroad, organizing special flights in coordination with the Farnesina Crisis Unit.
